Book your spot now and experience Corsica at its primal beauty.
Applications close as soon as the group is complete.
The Setting
Le Baiser du Vent is a residential oil painting course held on the unspoilt southern coast of Corsica, in the Gulf of Valinco.
Here, nature speaks an ancient language, and the landscape still seems governed by the primal elements.
Towering mountains that plunge into the sea, wind-sculpted cliffs, forests of cork oak and mastic trees, white-sand beaches and turquoise waters: Corsica is a place of powerful beauty, where creativity is reawakened naturally - a physical response to the surrounding splendour.
We will paint outdoors every day, under jasmine-covered pergolas and on panoramic terraces overlooking the sea, immersed in the peace of a protected nature reserve.
The Course
This 36-hour intensive programme is designed for all levels - from complete beginners to experienced artists - thanks to the small group size (maximum 10 participants), which allows for tailored, one-to-one guidance.
Each stage of oil painting will be covered in depth: from preparing the canvas (imprimatura), to building the composition, all the way through to final varnishing.
Each participant is free to develop their own personal project, choosing the subject - landscape, figure, still life - and artistic language (realism, abstraction, surrealism, expressionism...) that best reflects their individual goals.
More advanced students may also paint alla prima en plein air from the panoramic seafront terrace. Professional, high-quality materials are included, ensuring everyone the best working conditions.
The course will also include insights into the history of oil painting and pigments, exploring how this fascinating medium evolved into one of the richest forms of visual expression.
Cultural Experiences
The week also includes a series of curated cultural and nature-based excursions to enrich imagination and perception:
- Guided visits to megalithic archaeological sites hidden among the hills, with mysterious granite sculptures and ancient alignments
- Treks to abandoned villages like Ariddavu, reclaimed by the wilderness
- Walks through the historic towns of Sartène, Olmeto and Bonifacio
- A sunset boat trip to the Sanguinaires Islands, with swimming and aperitif at sea, bathed in shifting light and silence.
The Stay
We'll be staying in a modern villa overlooking the sea, designed by the architect-owner.
It offers seven bedrooms (3 doubles, 4 twins), two kitchens, two lounges, and shaded terraces full of jasmine and vibrant bougainvillaea.
Surrounding the villa are lush gardens and multi-level infinity pools with spa-like ambience. The beach is just a 10-minute walk via a coastal path.
The villa is not accessible by public transport - we recommend coming by car (own vehicle or rental).
